A Lovely Dedication: Friends, family and community members gathered in the warm sunshine of Sunday, September 12th to hear stories of Jane Shull Beasley, toast to her wonderful life and walk a path dedicated in her honor.
Overlooking the glistening water of Spring Meadow Lake, amid the buzzing of honey bees and grasshoppers, memories from Jane’s family and friends were shared over a small PA, with laughter and sips of orange soda, Jane’s favorite.
With her memory in our hearts, we each took the opportunity to wander along the duffy path of birdy haven through tall grasses, willow grove and cattail cove, past a bat house positioned along the trail, and out onto a lovely little sign marked with Jane’s own illustration of a humming bird that reads “Jane Beasley Memorial Trail.”
After learning from Jane’s daughter, Sandy (who now runs the Birds & Beasleys gift shop and bird seed store that her mother so lovingly began) that Jane“couldn’t separate art from Nature,” you, too, could not help but feel your own creative spirit ignite. Every step on her trail makes you ponder your own soulful projects. You’ll have Jane to thank for wishing you well on your journey. Many thanks to all who made this very special place possible for us to enjoy for years to come.
In conclusion, it was A Lovely Dedication.
