Saving Thick-billed Longspurs: Thick-billed longspurs are inhabitants of grasslands, preferring native grassland with a lot of bare ground, rocks, and sparse vegetation.

This species has declined about 95% overall since the late 1960’s. We don’t know much about the reasons behind the decline, other than loss of grasslands to other land uses like development and cropland.
