Project Feeder Watch: It’s that time of year again! Project Feeder Watch season begins November 13th and runs all the way through April.
Turn your casual backyard bird sightings into important scientific data. By participating in Feeder Watch, you can contribute to bird research studies across the country. It costs $18 to join, but your contribution to avian science is worth much more! Plus, they’ll send you a poster to help with your ID skills. By participating in FeederWatch, you can contribute to ongoing population density studies across the country. This is citizen science at its best.
You don’t even need a feeder! All you need is an area with plantings, habitat, water or food that attracts birds. Visit Birds & Beasleys for bird feed!
The schedule is completely flexible. Count your birds for as long as you like on days of your choosing, then enter your counts online. Your counts allow you to track what is happening to birds around your home and contribute to a continental data-set of bird distribution and abundance.
